Hard Work = a New Building this Spring! We started in the late fall of 2010. The volunteers worked on the bracing of the trusses, then Wooly Bully
Insulation came. Well that was a real job! The insulation was sprayed on wet and then the excess was removed.
If that wasn't messy enough, we were hit by freezing temptures and piles of snow which made it very hard to get next
to the doors of the building. We needed heat for the insulation to dry, and, oh yes, we had to turn on the furnaces.
We had the outer walls insulated and no insulation in the trusses. What a gas bill that is!
The next step
was to dry wall the ceilings so we would not loose any more heat. Volunteers came from Columbus and Saybrook Ohio to help
with the banquet hall ceiling. Thanks to all the volunteers, we got the ceiling drywalled. We had put in the order for
the rest of the drywall and guess what you guessed it BLIZZARD!!! A big one. So how was the dry wall supposed to be
delivered. Very carefully of course. Things sometimes do not go as planned. You could not get in the big doors as they
were frozen so they had to go to the side doors. Yes, the truck got in ok, but when it was unloaded they could not
get out. Time to call a tow truck!
We did not give up even though the snow kept falling. The Banquet
Hall, Gift Shop, and the rest of the building are now all drywalled and taped and ready to paint. We are hoping, though
much prayer to have the building finished by this April. Keep checking the website for all the events coming up
Hope to see you this April and we hope you will enjoy our new Gift Shop and Banquet Hall. More updates will follow.
May God Bless all the donors who have made this project possible! Thank you for your support.
